Is this going to work?
I’ve built a water feature constructed out of small river rock 41/2" to 1/8" it’s 27" wide, 22" from front to back, 6" high in the front rises to 15" at the back. the shape is straight in the back round front, holds 1 1/4 gal of water. In the center is a 6 1/4"diameter opening 8 1/2" deep in the front rises to 13" at the back(can be made to any size) Intended for a cremation Urn to be used as an enhancement for memorial services At the top back behind where the Urn sets is a pool where the water is pumped from below (3 gallons per minute) it’s 15" wide the total distance from back to the inside back of Urn opening is 6", 3" of that is water 2 1/4" deep 1 1/2" of rock on each side. The water flows down evenly on both sides until it reaches the middle of the Urn 1 side 5" the other 7" they split both inside streams are 3" wide they follow around the inside opening of the Urn until they meet at the front of the Urn then drops 4" into the pool below. The lower pool water is 17" wide radius, 4" to 3" from front to back & 2 1/2" to 3 1/2" deep. The two on the outside keep going down straight until they reach the pool below The combination of all 4 streams create the tranquil sound of a close by Mountain brook, creek or stream (Nothing in the world like it) since I can’t put a picture I’d prefer a 30 second video ) back to the description. On one side there’s 3 planters ones 4" oval shaped near top back just below it closer to the front a 3" oval planter mid bottom a 2" oval planter there all 3" to 4" deep for live plants also there’s a 2" square flat rock close to the top back in front of the 3" planter for a ceremonial candle. The other side there’s 2 planters a 5" oval near the top back the other 1 1/4" round near front mid lower at the back also 3" deep. Back of the 5" planter is a 2" square flat rock 2" higher at the back is a 2" flat spot also for a candle 3 total. Weights about 125lb, 96% of the rock were collected in a 100′ square area Mother natures blend of earth tone colors the other 4% were taken from a beach in Carlsbad CA. Everybody that’s seen it has really liked it. Ok this is the concept (There’s multiple applications) I chose this one thinking it to be the most profitable and will benefit the most people. I remember going to my father in laws memorial service he wanted to be cremated. As I walked into the chapel next to the podium there was a table with flowers and a brass Urn it was quiet except for a few sniffles there were at least 60 people and there were times you could hear a pin drop. Here’s how I Imagine with the enhancement as the guest enter to pay there respect as they enter they hear the pleasant tranquil sound of falling water and see the top quarter of there deceased friend or relatives Urn nestled in the center of a beautiful stone setting surrounded by mother natures life wrapped with flowing water symbolizing that the deceased was loved very much creating comfort seeing how peaceful the deceased is. It will make a big difference. The funeral home that purchases the enhancement gets to offer it’s customers a great setting for such tragic time in there life also a whole new line of keep sakes. 1 The choice to take the plants home or to give to friends or family they choose what kind and how many of course there’s a limit also instructions on how to take care of each plant will be included. 2 The water can be placed in small bottles with a rock in it from one of the pools or they can have the water Blessed by a Priest. 3 If they choose to have candles they can pick the ones they want and take them home after the services. Like I said this is only one application I can also put a stone lid on it and it can become an Urn it self. The only maintenance is the pump other than that I’ll put a 300 year warranty it and it will pay for it’s self in no time and will become a tradition for a long time 5 star craftsmanship. I hope I worded my idea correctly and thank you for your time.
I think it just might!! I would suggest that you offer this to florists as well and not limit this to funerals. If it is truly portable, it would be lovely at wedding receptions, baptisms and anniversary celebrations.

Where is it more appropriate to put a cremation urn at home? on the side tale or on the altar?
my fathers cremation urn has been sitting on his bedside table for 2 years now, (primary reason was to give comfort to my stepmom), been wondering now if it would be better to place him on the altar instead since my stepmom ain’t using the same room anymore? (planning to transfer the urn into the churches columbarium, but it ain’t complete yet). I’m in the philippines, but my father was pure german, if culture would matter.
Maybe your stepmother likes it there. My best friend’s husband’s urn is on a shelf in the kitchen cabinets. She said she likes to say good morning when she gets her Cheerios. Maybe your step-mom likes the urn there so she knows he’s there but it isn’t a big deal. My friend likes the urn next to the cereal because he’s there if she needs him, but hidden from people who mean well but feel they have to say some condolences yet again or always act in a somber way with no laughs or gossips or fun because they know the urn is there. She said that before she put it in the cabinet she would forget the urn was out in view but visitors saw it and always acted weird and it made her feel depressed. I’d ask your step-mom why she keeps the urn there and if she would like the urn somewhere else, but be prepared for her own reasons of why it is there.
What is the carbon footprint factor of cremation versus natural burial?
Has Al Gore and the gobal warming enthusiests determined what way we should bury our loved ones and still keep our chins up? I would’nt want to leave much of a carbon footprint while going through such a time of sorrow.
The whole notion of a "carbon footprint" is far less relevant than you imply.
Your cremated "carbon footprint" is ashes and whatever emissions are produced reducing you thereunto.
Your burial "carbon footprint" would usually involve multiple vehicles and at least one tractor with a backhoe.
Al Gore’s "carbon footprint" is about three hundred times anything you can unleash upon the environment.
Did I do the right thing?
Today I cooked for my family and friends because we were having a memorial for my grandmother. My son, who is four years old, found the urn filled with her ashes and dumped it into my cake. This cake is huge, it took me three days to make. I found out that my son had dumped her remains into the cake and I didn’t know what to do. The memorial was today and I just served the cake.
Did I do the right thing?
P.S. Everybody told me it was the best cake they have ever tasted =)

Where can I find a Doctor Who Tardis cookie jar?
I’ve seen them listed on several sites but everyone appears to be out of stock. I’ve also looked at the ice bucket but I want it as a cremation urn so I think the ceramic cookie jar is really what I need.
I’ve heard that there is a Doctor Who shop in the UK (does not have an online store) that sells them. Could anyone verify that?
thanks for any help!
I tried to buy through starstore and they had to cancel my order because they don’t actually have it.
thewhoshop has the 2ft tall one that they can’t ship to the US.
Yes there is The Who Shop that sells a lot of collectables. The address is http://www.thewhoshop.com/ If anyone should have one it is them.
Is Keats Ode on a Grecian Urn the first reference to truth and beauty together?
I love debating the seemingly age old truth and beauty issue, but I can’t find any references before Keats.
Can any of you enlighten me please.
References and links would be great here.
Thanks in anticipation.
Whenever these two words, or worlds, are seem together, the name John Keats springs into mind. And this reference is so type cast in memory that one might not even think of any other source of enlightenment about the truth and beauty. Such is the appeal of the romantic poet that it seems as if all previous references have been wiped out of existence, as I believe there must be at least few.
I believe this is partly because it is only Romantic Movement in literature that brought forth topics like these into common attention of common people, in proper poetic form. And until that happened, for centuries before, truth had been a subject to be regarded most reverently as a matter of religious claim and serious philosophical quest into the meaning and purpose of life, and beauty, on the other hand, as mainly feminine beauty, a concept perhaps more akin to sinfulness and temptation than it as a reality of natural beauty as in Wordsworth for instance, not an antithesis to human notions of chastity and righteousness.
The poor response you have receive so far could be because the question demands research, which is not always an easy thing to carry out, and perhaps because it could have been placed in the poetry section. Nevertheless, the following is my contribution to the subject matter of your question. I hope you will find some of the answers interesting, entertaining and enlightening.

How long after a pet is put to sleep does the vet cremate them? Please answer!!?
We got my cat put to sleep this morning. I thought my mom was going to get the cremation put in an urn and get it back. But then I asked her and we weren’t getting the ashes.
Do they put the animal on ice or something before? I want to call and see if we can get him back before they get rid of the ashes or the cat in his whole.
I feel terrible. My cat doesn’t want to spend eternity at that vet. And for some reason we used a new vet so it was even worse.
Call your vet in the morning. If you want a private cremation you will have to pay for it, and most vets send them out rather than doing them on site. At the clinic my husband works out they are not there for longer than a day or two before they are picked up. If you decide you want to take the remains home it will be in their cooler if they still have it. Call first thing when they open, and good luck.
Sorry for your loss.
Cremated ashes in my daughter’s hand….can I sue?
My former spouse committed suicide 3 weeks ago. He had preferred cremation, so we honored his wish. My daughter chose a "keepsake" urn to hold some of his ashes. Upon her receiving the urn, his cremated remains spilled into her hand due to the funeral home not sealing the urn. She collapsed, screaming and crying…for an hour afterward, she was in a catatonic state with her hand outstretched and would not move it. She now is stating this is the "worst thing that has ever happened in her life". Worse than finding out that her father had chosen to end his life. Is it appropriate for me to seek counsel for emotional distress/damage?
My daughter is 15, not 3. I did examine the urn prior to giving it to her. I took the urn to a different funeral home to have them seal it–they are the ones that recommended litigation due to negligence, as there was obviously NO attempt to seal the urn. The plastic "plug" which has a hole in it, was simply inserted into the bottom, not sealed with epoxy as is industry standard.
Oh shit, bad things happen.
Let’s just sue everyone. Awesome.
How should my sister go about telling her daughter what exactly cremation is?
and what exactly is in the urn?
We tried, she just gets more confused. Its pretty comical actually.
Ahh, the minds of 8 year olds.
Red: You’d think so but she’s so confused still. She didnt know what ‘ashes’ were and she just cant grasp the though of him being in there.
I think she may have got it now or just gave up on trying to understand.
"You burn a dead body, then the ashes of it are put into the urn."
Simple enough?
